Swiss Gruppe "Glarus" - Operationsbefehl No 12 17.7.1940
[Task and Position] [Order of Battle]
The group "Glarus" had to block the entry to the Central Area (Zentralraum) through the valley of Glarus. It blocked the entrance to the valley in the area of Näfels / Mollis with three batallions, the Linthal with one batallion and the Sernftal with one batallion. One batallion was left at Schwanden as a reserve.
When the 6. Division was attached to 4th corps on 17.August 1940, the group was dissolved and the 7. Division was given the responsibility for the sector. In the operational order No 12bis on 1.1.1940 the group was to be found with exactly the same OOB, but now it was called Gruppe "Glärnisch" (after the mountain between the Klöntal and the Linthal).
