Swiss 7. Division - Operationsbefehl No 12 17.7.1940
[Task and Position] [Order of Battle]
With the initial operationsbefehl No 12 the 7th division had the task to defend the Northern entrance to the Central Area (Zentralraum) on the arc Küssnacht (LU) - Zug (excl) - Menzingen - Pfäffikon (SZ) - Bilten (excl). Despite the assigment of 18 infantry batallions and of 8 artillery batallions, the task proved to be too big and on 12.8.40 the sector was reduced significantly (starting now West of Pfäffikon SZ) and the 6th division was inserted on the vacated part of the sector. The forces were adapted accordingly.

With the change of the operational order No 12 on 12.8.40, the mot sch Kan Rgt 13 was detached from 7. Div and attached to the corps as corps artillery.
In his report of 17. September 1940 the general mentioned, that the division had been converted to mountain service and the appropriate material was being distributed.
