5. Infanteriedivision

The 5. ID was part o VI corps in 2. army during the attack on France. It was allocated to 12. army in July 1940. It remained in the area of Besancon until April 1941 when it was transferred to the East.

Commanding General: Gen. d. Artillerie Wilhelm Fahrmbacher until Oct 1940, Gen. d. Infanterie Karl Allmendinger.
